Austenitising and pre-heating of carbon and low-alloy steels. Clean, scale-free, decarburisation-free surface every time.
SN-660 Neutral Salt is a chloride-based neutral salt bath compound designed for austenitising and pre-heating of carbon steels, tool steels and low-alloy engineering steels. The bath operates in the 660°C–900°C temperature range — covering both the pre-heating stage before high-temperature hardening and the full austenitising cycle for lower-alloy grades.
Because the salt is chemically neutral at operating temperature, the steel surface undergoes no carburisation, decarburisation or oxidation. Parts emerge clean, bright and ready for quenching — with no scale to remove and no surface layer to grind back.
